Who's behind DIETFLEX?
DIETFLEX was created by two of Australia's longest term fitness veterans Jamie and Ellen Hayes.
Their vision was that the fitness and health industries could become the leading providers of quality weight loss programming to their communities, and online, across Australia and New Zealand.
Learning from their program development and member success at Healthy Inspirations they created an expert program that could be delivered by coaches trained by DIETFLEX.
Here's a brief overview of their journey.
1978
Started teaching group fitness classes in Sydney. It was the early days before any instructor training courses.
1981
Jamie opens the Club World of Fitness in Sydney's Castlereagh Street with a team of fitness partners.
1981
Jamie and Ellen attend the first fitness leader course in NSW run by ACHPER, The Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation. They are the instructors to be registered by the NSW Fitness Advisory Council.
1983
Jamie becomes regular lecturer in the ACHPER fitness leader courses run in NSW, NT and Malaysia.
1984
Jamie and Ellen open Aerobic City in the Wynyard district of downtown Sydney.
1987
Jamie awarded Australia's first National Fitness Leader of the Year by Network for Fitness Professionals.
1989
They open the first Body Express personal fitness club in Ryde NSW. They go on to open more Body Express clubs at Brighton, Bondi and Miranda.
1990's
Jamie gives many presentation at the Filex International Fitness Conference in Darling Harbour. Topics include group exercise, circuit training, super-slow strength training, management and weight loss coaching.
2002
They open the first Healthy Inspirations women's weight loss and exercise centre in Kenmore Queensland and commence franchising the concept with centres in Qld, NSW, Vic, NZ, Tas, SA and WA.
2012
Together with Melbourne doctor Rod Taylor they found Low Carb Down Under, as a not-for-profit event organisation to bring the most up-to-date dietary knowledge and experts to Australia.
2015
They founded DIETFLEX to make an expert weight loss system available to people who undergo the DIETFLEX coach training.
